Planning a Treatment Trip to Orlando: A Checklist
By Pamela Wagener, Business Director
Some of our patients live a short drive away. Others travel to Orlando from other states or other countries. If you are thinking about travelling for neuropathy care, good planning makes the trip calmer for you and for anyone coming with you.
Here is a practical checklist to help.
1. Start with a conversation, not a plane ticket
Before you book anything, talk with us first. A free 15-minute eligibility consultation helps you understand whether treatment at our clinic may be a fit, and what your visit schedule could look like. Ask how many visits to plan for and how much time to allow between them, then build your travel dates around that.
It is also a good idea to let your own doctor know you are considering care away from home.
2. Gather your health information
Bring copies of anything that tells your story, in paper or on your phone:
Your current medication list, with doses
Diagnoses and recent test results or reports
Your doctors' names and contact details
A short symptom diary
Your insurance card and photo ID
Keep medications in your carry-on bag in their original containers, with enough for the whole trip plus a few extra days in case of delays.
3. Choose where to stay with comfort in mind
Our clinic is at 6001 Vineland Road in Orlando. When you look at places to stay, check the distance to the clinic on a map, and think about:
A quiet room where you can rest between visits
Easy access: elevators, ground-floor rooms or walk-in showers if you need them
A small kitchen or nearby food options, so you can eat well without much walking
Flexible or refundable booking, in case your schedule changes
4. Plan how you will get around
Decide ahead of time how you will get to and from your appointments: a rental car, a ride service, or a family member driving. If you have balance or numbness in your feet, allow extra time so you never have to rush.
5. Bring a companion if you can
A friend or family member can help with travel, keep track of appointments and notes, and simply be there. If you are a family member planning the trip for someone you love, you are welcome to call us with questions too.
6. Pack for Florida and for your feet
Comfortable, closed, well-fitting shoes and clean socks
Light, loose clothing; Florida is warm for much of the year
A refillable water bottle, sunscreen and a hat
Anything that helps you rest well, like your own pillow
7. Leave room in the schedule
Travel is tiring, and so is managing nerve symptoms. Try not to fill every day. Plan some quiet time between appointments, and save sightseeing for days when you feel up to it.
We are here to help you plan
As a concierge clinic, we know that care is easier when the details around it are handled. Ask us about scheduling, timing and anything else that would make your trip smoother.
